About the Say NO to Cancer event

Every year in NSW alone, more than 48,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed. Josephine was inspired to start the event to give back to Cancer Council as its support programs were a great help to her.

Josephine says, "I am honoured to host this event to help raise awareness and much needed funds for Cancer Council. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 I was very grateful for the support I received from Cancer Council during my cancer journey. I'm bringing everyone together to raise funds to support cancer research and provide vital services for Australians living with cancer."

The money raised from this event funded Cancer Council's world-class cancer research, prevention, advocacy and support programs.

Josephine's Story

Josephine was first diagnosed in 2014 as a result of visiting Dr Moradi for a completely unrelated issue. During her consultation, Dr Moradi asked her if there was anything else she would like him to look at. After considering, she said that she had a concern with her breasts. On initial inspection, Dr Moradi told her that she should get a mammogram.

In an interview with Josephine, she describes that she is very grateful for Dr Moradi as the person going through the journey relies on the experience of their doctors. Josephine states that Dr Moradi has been very supportive throughout her journey and made all her appointments for her.

"I can't speak highly enough of Dr Moradi... He is my guardian angel"
