Can you perform a 360 Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck and a Breast Lift in the same operation?

Yes, this is preferred. The abdomen is performed first followed by the breast. This helps with breast shaping.

When do you decide to have 360 Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck? Should I enquire for abdominoplasty/tummy tuck first?

When there is any excess skin or fat in the love handle and back region that won't be addressed with a standard tummy tuck. It is also called a lower body lift or a belt lipectomy.

Transformational Surgery Results

Recovery

It's a two - five-night stay in Hospital. And two-four weeks off Work depending on work.

Dressings stay on for the first week and then changed by Dr Moradi. After that, the dressings are changed at home every 2-3 days. Lymphatic massages can start after the first week to help with swelling. And scar management will start at 4 weeks post-op.

It takes a good 12-18months to get a "white" scar. Scars start off red, due to the red blood cells which start the healing process. Over time they go "purple" (similar to this scar at 2 months) due to the excess collagen fibres which are haphazardly arranged. Then they go "blue". It is during this phase scar management is so important to help realign and reduce the collagen fibres. Be patient and trust the process.

How much does Transformational Surgery cost?

Costs associated with a Transformational Surgery vary on a number of factors, however this will be discussed during your consultation:

  • Anaesthetist's fees
  • Private hospital or day surgical facility fees
  • Your level of private insurance cover
  • Need for other facial plastic surgical procedures, such as eyelid rejuvenation, facelift, neck lift or brow lift.
  • Surgical assistant's fee

Medicare

The breast lift and implant component of the procedure aren't covered. Any time an implant is inserted it is deemed cosmetic, so Medicare and therefore health funds won't cover any costs. However, 360 abdominoplasty/tummy tuck usually is covered. As long as the skin excess threatens the integrity of the skin and the patient has lost weight and is stable. Liposuction isn't covered either. As a patient, you will need to pay for the cosmetic component of the operation.
