Who is the best plastic surgeon?
Breast augmentation, boob job, breast enlargement and mammoplasty are all the same name for one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgeries around the world. Australia's beach culture is responsible for creating a cleavage culture which has caused a boom in the aesthetic surgery realm. The trouble comes when there are large numbers of practitioners who are less than expert in their field, making it ever important to be able to discern who the best plastic surgeon for breast augmentation is in Sydney.
What to ask your plastic surgeon
If you are considering a breast augmentation, you will want an expert who will provide the best outcome. There are a number of probing questions that you should ask which should give you a better idea of where on the scale your potential surgeon lies.
- What is your plastic surgery training?
Any doctor with a basic medical degree can legally perform breast augmentation in Australia. A specialist plastic surgeon however, need to complete a further seven years of additional training and have the letters FRACS after their name to indicate that they belong to the RACS (Royal Australasian College of Surgeon).
- What is your breast augmentation experience?
More specifically you should find out how many years they have been performing breast augmentations for as well as how many times they have performed it over the years.
- Where is the surgery performed and do you have hospital privileges?
Breast augmentation can be performed in a number of locations including the hospital, in a clinic and at the doctor's premises. If the doctor performs in-office surgeries, it is imperative that they have hospital privileges in the event that there are any problems or emergencies.
- Are our aesthetic senses the same?
It is vital that you and your surgeon are on the same page. To get a better idea of their aesthetic and the way they tailor mammoplasty for someone with your body type, it is a good idea to ask to see before and after photos.
- Does your practice offer a good experience?
It is your right to receive the best treatment from your initial in-office enquiry until you say good-bye after your last follow up. You therefore need to be satisfied with all aspects ranging from the staff, to the facility and any other aspect of the practice. If you are not happy, then choose a different surgeon.
