Question: I underwent rhinoplasty surgery approximately three weeks ago, and my nose is still very much swollen. Is this normal? Could something be wrong?
Answer:Unfortunately, swelling and rhinoplasty go hand and hand, and it really does take a while for the swelling to subside completely. Depending on the type of procedure that you has – opened or closed – the duration and degree of swelling will vary. Although it can literally take months to dissolve completely, a lot of times only the patient and their plastic surgeon are aware of the swelling, as it usually is not obvious to anyone else as it is to the two people who are analysing it. It will look better with each day that passes, so hold tight and allow it to heal completely before becoming alarmed. I hope this helps.
