Question: I am considering getting a facelift, but am concerned about the overall time I will need to heal — and how it will affect my attendance at work. How long will it take to regain normalcy, without looking like someone who just had a facelift?
Answer: Although the exact timing differs for everyone, I tell each of my facelift clients to allow approximately three weeks to completely rid themselves of the swelling and to feel confident with their new and improved look. The stitches are removed after the first week, and my practice provides our clients with a lymphatic massage for the first three weeks to help decrease the swelling and promote healing. If this is the only procedure you are having — and are not coupling it with rhinoplasty or fat grafting — three weeks should be sufficient timing. I hope this helps. Good luck!
