How Do Breast Implants Affect Your Sleeping Habits?

Question: Is sleeping on your stomach with breast implants completely out of the question? Are there hazards or side effects to doing so?

Answer: I tell all of my patients to avoid applying pressure to their breasts after having implant surgery for at least four to six weeks after the procedure. Whether you are sleeping, relaxing or working on your tan, avoid lying on your stomach during this time simply as a precaution. There is no medical or scientific timeframe, but it does make sense to all cosmetic surgeons to advise their clients to avoid pressure to the area when and where they can. Also, wearing a post-operative bra during the early stages is also recommended, to keep your healing time down to a minimum. Thanks for the question.
